General and Endocrine Surgeon
Dr. Bobanga is a Board Certified General Surgeon and fellowship trained Endocrine Surgeon. She specializes in surgical diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands in addition to benign and malignant breast and abdominal disorders.
After graduating from University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree, she attended Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. She completed her surgical training in Cleveland, Ohio: general surgery residency at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Bobanga performs open, minimally invasive, and robotic surgical procedures, including thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery, breast surgery, gallbladder removal, hernia repairs, colon resection, upper endoscopies and colonoscopies. In addition, she is trained in ultrasound imaging of the neck and performs neck ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsies in the office for patients with thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer or parathyroid disease, among others.
Dr. Bobanga is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, She is also an active member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Throughout her training and clinical practice years, she has also participated in research studies and co-authored multiple papers and textbook chapters with the focus on surgery of the endocrine glands. She has a special interest in thyroid cancer, hyperparathyroidism and Graves’ disease.
After practicing as a General and Endocrine Surgeon in Cleveland since 2018, she relocated to the Mat-Su Valley in 2022 with her husband and three children due to their love of the great Alaskan outdoors. She enjoys hiking, skiing and photography, and most of all spending time outdoors with her family.
